Prepare your organization for ISO 9001:2026
The international standard ISO 9001:2026 for quality management is expected to be published in October/November 2026. This is the first major update since 2015 and responds to technological innovations, stricter sustainability goals, and the changing global supply chain. For organizations, this means that their quality management systems must be designed to be future-proof.

or are you planning to obtain it? If so, it is essential to stay informed about the periodic revisions. These are planned and published every few years by the International
Organization for Standardization
(ISO) to keep the standard relevant and effective in a changing world. Although the final text will not be available until 2026, some important guidelines are already known.
- Draft version (DIS): August/September 2025
- Expected publication: October/November 2026
Transition period: The transition period is typically 2 to 3 years. The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) is expected to develop mandatory documents for the transition of certificates to the new standards, which will specify the transition period.

Although immediate action is not yet necessary, it is wise to investigate how these changes may affect your management system. By making preparations now, you will be able to transition to ISO 9001:2026 quickly and efficiently when the time comes.
