What has changed?
Are you looking for verification related to the double counting of biofuels? The regulations for renewable energy in transport have changed. Since 2026, the former HBE system has been replaced by the ERE system: Emission Reduction Units.
As a result, the role of double counting has also changed. Whereas certain biofuels could previously be counted twice within the HBE system, the focus is now on correctly registering renewable energy in the Register Energy for Transport (REV). Organizations receive EREs for these registrations.
DEKRA therefore no longer offers a separate service under the name Biofuels Double Counting Verification Protocol.
