Damage assessments: professional, quick and objective

DEKRA has approximately 160 experts on staff for damage assessment and inspections of passenger cars, heavy equipment, two-wheelers, motorcycles, old-timers, caravans and campers, among others. Our range of services also includes the determination of (motor) technical damage, the performance of surveys, the handling of business damage and the inspection of vehicle repairs and maintenance.

By far the majority of damage claims in the Netherlands involve vehicle damage. In addition to costs, vehicle damage often leads to mobility problems. Therefore, speed and efficiency are central to DEKRA's claims handling.  Thanks to our advanced systems and extensive information sources, many damages can be accurately determined remotely (tele-expertise). If necessary, we travel to the location of the vehicle for a physical assessment or inspection. Based on the information collected, we then determine the extent of the damage. Our efficient working method guarantees a short processing time and competitive rates.

Technical examination

As an insurer, leasing company, fleet owner but also as a private individual you can have DEKRA investigate the nature, extent and cause of technical damage to vehicles. For example, in the case of claims on garage policies (key faults) or possible recoverability of the damage from the driver or a maintenance company. You will then receive a report from us in which we factually and in concrete terms describe the motivation, cause or reason for the damage.
Transparency in costs
To give you an indication, we use the following starting rates:
  • Basic technical inspection: from € 700 including 21% VAT
  • Investigation into nature and cause (e.g. engine damage): from € 1,500 including 21% VAT
Preparation costs of € 50 including 21% VAT may be charged for drawing up a comprehensive quotation. These costs will be fully deducted if you decide to have the technical inspection carried out by us.

Expertise for heavy equipment

For damage expertise in the field of agricultural machinery, work equipment and road transport equipment, you can also come to us. Damage to these special objects has its own character and requires specific knowledge. Depending on the damage, we can carry out a desk assessment, compact assessment or traditional (physical) assessment in order to arrive at a careful and independent opinion.

Digital assessments

Using advanced software and tools, DEKRA is able to handle assessments and claims digitally and very efficiently. Not only on the basis of data, statistical and technical analyses but also on the basis of virtual intelligence and telematics, we are not only able to assess individual files in a fully digitized way but also to analyze your claim burden and advise you. Our tools and systems are essential for managing the claims burden of insurers, leasing companies and fleet owners.

We are also happy to make our knowledge and experience available to optimize your own business operations. For example, we can take over your warranty handling or perform warranty audits at your dealership. We can also apply quality audits, ROB sampling or other control to other operational and support activities of your business partners.
