DEKRA Product Testing

How do you demonstrate that safety, performance and quality are important to your organization?

Product certificates that we issue

DEKRA's own product certificates

DEKRA has its own product certificates and quality marks for safe products. Our product certificates are specially developed for international markets, such as the United Kingdom, Canada or the United States.

DEKRA UKCA

DEKRA has been appointed by the UK Office for Product Safety & Standards as a Notified Body for testing conformity with the UK regulations for:

INMETRO certification

INMETRO is the compulsory certification mark for electrical and non-electrical products marketed in Brazil. DEKRA’s local offices in Brazil, with Portuguese-speaking experts, are ready to support you.

Other product certificates we issue

In addition to our own product certificates, we also issue other certificates and quality marks. See below which product certificates these are and which market you can enter with them.

CE mark

The purpose of the CE marking is to promote free trade in goods within the EEA and to harmonise regulations within these countries.
More about the CE mark

CB-report

With a CB report, you can apply for other national certification marks from test houses affiliated with the IECEE. DEKRA acts as a National Certification Body (NCB) and as a Certified Body Testing Laboratory (CBTL). We can test and certify under the CB scheme.

CCA-mark

The CCA Mark covers virtually all electrical equipment and components sold on the EU market. This certification mark confirms that you comply with the relevant standards and regulations and can be combined with DEKRA Mark.

CCC-certificate

To enter the Chinese market your product needs to be compliant with the CCC scheme. DEKRA is recognized by the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) and China Certification Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility (CEMC). This allows for easy conversion from a CB report into a CCC certificate.

CTIA-certificate

Do you manufacture batteries or wireless components? Getting certified for CTIA can help set your products apart from the competition and grant you access to the US market.

E4 Mark

The E4 Mark demonstrates that you meet the latest compulsory EMC requirements for automotive products and components throughout Europe.

ENEC Mark

The ENEC Mark is the single certification mark for electrical and lighting products and components for the entire European Union.

ENEC+ Mark

The ENEC+ quality mark comes on top of the standard ENEC mark. This combination strengthens the position of your product.

GCC Mark

The Gulf countries have developed and implemented their own mandatory safety standards for low-voltage electronics and toys. DEKRA is a GSO Notified Body and can help you comply and obtain the GCC Mark for your products.

GS Mark

The GS Mark is a voluntary safety mark for the EU market and is well recognized in Germany and in German-speaking countries. Certified products must meet the quality and safety requirements of the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG).

IECEx certification

With an internationally recognized IECEx certification, you directly comply with relevant standards and regulations. IECEx can be combined with ATEX, FM, QPS and TIIS.

KEMA-KEUR

KEMA-KEUR is replaced by DEKRA Mark, our quality mark for safe products.

KEMA-KEUR HAR

The HAR is a common mark for cables and cords which comply with harmonized European specifications. It is a well-recognized mark that supports cable manufacturers in exporting their products to countries where CENELEC standards have been officially implemented.

Product certificates FAQ

Companies that want to manufacture products and sell them in the market need to go through the process of product certification to ensure that their products are safe and reliable. Product certificates demonstrate that your product meets pre-defined criteria or standards. The process is carried out by a third-party organization or certification body, like DEKRA. Our experts will test whether your product complies with relevant national and international standards for quality, safety, and environmental performance.

The advantages of product certificates

Product certificates offers several advantages for businesses. Here are 4 key benefits:
1. Market Access:
Product certificates give you access to markets, both domestically and internationally. Many government agencies, retailers, and procurement organizations only allow certified products.
2. Consumer Trust:
Certification builds trust and confidence among consumers. When customers see a certification mark on your product, they perceive it as a sign of quality, safety, and reliability.
3. Risk Mitigation:
Certificates helps mitigate risks associated with product safety and performance issues. By adhering to certification standards, you reduce the likelihood of product failures, liability claims, and costly recalls.
4. Competitive Advantage:
Certified products stand out in the market, positioning your business as a trusted and responsible provider. This can attract new customers, create brand loyalty, and increase market share.
Our experts evaluate your product against relevant standards and carry out tests and inspections to verify compliance. Once your product has been certified, you can use the certification mark to demonstrate compliance. Your proof of certification will be published in our publicly available certification database.
The time it takes to get your product certified depends on the complexity of the product and the requested certifications. DEKRA will map out a timeline for the process based on your unique situation and needs. In the case of a new product, you will have to take this planning into account so that certifications are obtained in time for the planned market launch.
The cost of product certification varies depending on the complexity of your product and the type of certification standard. Fill out a quote request on our website so we can look at your specific needs and give you an estimate of your product certification costs.
