ENEC certification
Have your lighting easily approved with ENEC certification
ENEC/ENEC+ is a European ISO Type 5 mark based on the Low Voltage Directive (EN standards). Through ENEC certification, you demonstrate that your electrical product meets various quality criteria and has been independently tested by an accredited institution.
Which products fall under the European ENEC mark?
Many countries have their own national certification marks for product safety. But ENEC certification is the mark for all of Europe. Products that fall under the ENEC certification include: luminaires and components, power supplies, switches, IT equipment, transformers, and household appliances.
Advantages of ENEC certification
ENEC mark complements the mandatory CE marking. However, unlike the CE marking, which manufacturers can apply themselves, ENEC certification can only be performed by an independent certification body. DEKRA, as an accredited institution, can provide your electrical products with an ENEC mark. In addition to extensive product testing, an annual factory inspection and Product Verification Test are also conducted. This ensures that the safety of electrical products with an ENEC mark can be guaranteed. Complying with ENEC certification offers many advantages.
What are the benefits of an ENEC mark?
- Your organisation meets European safety standards;
- you get access to various markets within Europe with one certificate;
- you reduce the risk of liability;
- you increase the reliability of your product and consumer/business confidence;

ENEC+
The ENEC+ mark focuses on the performance of an electrical product. Independent certification bodies verify the claims made by you as a manufacturer. For example, with luminaires, this could involve the amount of lighting (lumens) or a 1000-hour endurance test with a maximum loss of 10 percent in LEDs. DEKRA checks and tests the product's performance and concludes whether it matches the manufacturer's claims.
As a manufacturer, possessing an ENEC+ certificate shows that you are committed to bringing the best possible products to the European market.
How do you get your ENEC certification?
As an independent certification body, DEKRA can provide manufacturers' products with an ENEC mark as well as an ENEC+ mark. As an accredited institution, we conduct extensive tests to ensure that your products meet European safety standards. This includes both product tests and annual factory inspections and Product Verification Tests.

ENEC certification FAQ
Regulations on the use of the ENEC certification logo
The ENEC mark logo is a valuable tool to demonstrate the conformity and quality of your products. Once you have obtained the ENEC certificate, you can use the logos of the ENEC mark and/or ENEC+ mark logo in various strategic marketing locations. For example:
- On your product packaging
- On the product itself
- Manuals and technical documents
- In advertisements: integrate the logo in ads, both online and offline (magazines, newspapers, billboards)
- Enlarged on your products during an exhibition
- As marketing material for your social media channels (DEKRA can optionally be tagged as a certification partner)
- On your stand at trade shows
- In your printed promotional material such as leaflets, brochures, etc.
- In third-party online shops where your product is offered
- On your website in the product description
The ENEC certification mark logo can be enlarged in the same form and proportions, but in such a way that the letters remain legible. For the certification mark logo on tubes, however, the rectangle should not be smaller than 7 x 12 mm.

Proof of an ENEC certificate
Before you qualify for an ENEC plus certificate, your product must first have an ENEC certificate. Without proof that your product is safe to use, its performance is not tested.
