Secure and traceable processes in AI management systems
More and more companies are using Artificial Intelligence (AI), including in critical and regulated sectors. AI offers significant opportunities, but also imposes new requirements regarding transparency, security, and accountability. The use of Artificial Intelligence raises fundamental questions for many companies. How do you ensure the transparency of AI applications? What risks need to be managed? How do you comply with ethical and legal requirements in a rapidly changing environment?
ISO 42001 certification provides answers to these questions. This ensures safe and traceable processes within your AI management systems. DEKRA is pleased to certify you against the international standard ISO/IEC 42001.
ISO 42001 is the first internationally recognized standard for AI management systems, developed by ISO and IEC. This new standard provides organizations of all sizes with a structured framework for the responsible, compliant, and transparent use of AI.
ISO 42001 is compatible with other
management system standards
, such as
ISO 27001
, and can be seamlessly integrated into your existing management systems. This allows you to use AI capabilities safely and reliably.

People-Based Auditing
Our approach during the ISO 42001 audit
ISO 42001 is not just about policies and procedures, but primarily about how people within your organization interact with AI systems and handle the associated responsibilities. With our
People-Based Auditing approach
, we explicitly focus on human behavior, awareness, and decision-making related to AI during audits.
This approach provides you with insight into how AI governance, risk management, and ethical principles are actually embedded in the organizational culture. In this way, we go beyond simply assessing compliance with the standard; instead, we promote an effective and widely supported implementation of ISO 42001.
