Ready for the future with DEKRA Mark

KEMA-KEUR is now DEKRA Mark

The international quality mark for product safety

You are ready for the future, anytime, anywhere. With DEKRA Mark, the international quality mark for product safety. The DEKRA Mark quality mark shows that a product meets all legal safety requirements. DEKRA Mark is based on internationally recognized standards and is therefore the future-proof replacement for KEMA-KEUR.

Like KEMA-KEUR, DEKRA Mark is an ISO Type 5 certification. This means that a product with DEKRA Mark meets the highest quality and safety standards. For ISO Type 5 certification, not only must the product meet strict requirements, but the production process is also scrutinized. The performance of the product is tested and compliance with legal safety requirements is checked.

Why is KEMA-KEUR disappearing?

KEMA-KEUR was first issued by KEMA Quality, a subsidiary of the Dutch company KEMA. In 2009, KEMA Quality was acquired by DEKRA, an international player in the field of testing and certification. With the acquisition, DEKRA also obtained the exclusive right to issue the KEMA-KEUR quality mark.
Since then, developments in the field of product safety requirements have continued apace. In 2021, DEKRA will introduce its own quality mark, DEKRA Mark. This quality mark is based on the same quality procedures and product safety standards, but is also future-proof under the DEKRA banner. Following the introduction of DEKRA Mark and a transition period, DEKRA will stop issuing KEMA-KEUR.

Will there still be products on the shelves with the KEMA-KEUR label?

That is possible. Quality marks issued in the past remain valid as long as the product does not change. New products or products whose design has been modified (requiring them to be re-inspected) will no longer receive the KEMA-KEUR quality mark.

Are there other certifying bodies that continue to issue KEMA-KEUR certification?

No, apart from DEKRA, there are no other certifying bodies authorized to issue KEMA-KEUR certification. Now that DEKRA is discontinuing the certification mark, KEMA-KEUR will disappear.

DEKRA Mark and CE, what is the difference?

CE marking is required by law, but there is no independent inspection to determine whether a product meets CE requirements. The manufacturer of a product assesses whether the product complies and applies CE marking.
DEKRA Mark is a quality mark that is only issued after a product has been independently tested by DERKA. It is not a legally required quality mark, but a quality mark that shows that a manufacturer has taken extra steps to demonstrate that quality and safety are well assured.
