Supporting role of DEKRA’s Assessment Service: 'Staying flexibly deployable'
Since 2017, European Recycling Platform (ERP) and H2 Compliance have utilized DEKRA’s third party Assessment Services. For them, this service was the solution to remain flexible in serving their clients. “We collaborate with external audit companies to make our own audit program as versatile as possible. So, this DEKRA service gives our organization more flexibility”, explains Mario Champagne, audit manager at H2 Compliance.
ERP and H2 Compliance operate globally and are part of Landbell Group. Mario: “We provide waste management services for municipalities and businesses in EMEA and NA for waste batteries and accumulators, e-waste and packaging.”
ERP and H2 Compliance do this for both businesses and local authorities involved with waste. Their customers are international blue-chip companies who rely on ERP and H2 Compliance to provide assurance that their environmental requirements are discharged by organizations operating to the required high standards.
'This DEKRA service gives our organization more flexibility’
Mario ensures that his team of auditors consistently set the bar high. “Our mission is to ensure that the recycling supply chain meets our technical and management requirements. We achieve this by auditing recycling companies with our own auditing process," explains Mario. “ERP and H2 Compliance are quite busy with this task and are also expanding. The challenge lies in having enough trained auditors available for immediate deployment. This is where DEKRA's Assessment Service comes in handy.”
Significant, supportive role
DEKRA auditors play a significant, supportive role at ERP and H2 Compliance. Mario continues, “We train DEKRA auditors so that they can apply our auditing process to recycling sites selected by us. In this way, we can offer our service more extensively in even more countries.”
ERP and H2 Compliance are based in most European countries, including the United Kingdom, and selected DEKRA Assessment Services through a tender process. For ERP and H2 Compliance, it came in handy that they could quickly utilize this service because DEKRA auditors also operate in the United Kingdom.
Mario concludes: “Looking to the future, we'd like to continue training DEKRA auditors in more countries to meet the growing demand for our service.”
