DEKRA Industrial Safety becomes part of The Safety Network

Effective April 1, 2026, DEKRA Industrial Safety B.V. has been acquired by The Safety Network. The safety consulting division will continue under the name Arbosupport. Employees and customers were informed in January.

DEKRA is divesting its Industrial Safety division as part of its refined strategic direction, "Strategy 2030+." The organization is explicitly focusing on growth in the TIC industry (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) and will cease offering safety consulting services in the Netherlands. “When selecting a buyer, we took great care to choose a party that is good for both the employees and customers of DEKRA Industrial Safety. The Safety Network is that party,” says Nic Hendriks, Managing Director of DEKRA Industrial Safety.

A New Perspective at The Safety Network

"In its anniversary year of 2025, DEKRA outlined its strategy for the coming years. With a renewed focus on TIC services, the decision was made to seek out a strong and reliable partner to which DEKRA Industrial Safety’s consulting services could be transferred," said Hendriks. The choice fell on The Safety Network, a network of specialized safety companies that operate independently in the field of occupational safety and health. "As part of The Safety Network, employees gain a new perspective within an organization that has been investing in occupational safety for 30 years."

A new, familiar name

DEKRA Industrial Safety became part of DEKRA in 2018 through the acquisition of Arbo Support in Rotterdam. With the acquisition by The Safety Network, the familiar name is being revived. Jaap Giebels has been appointed director of Arbosupport B.V. Giebels explains: “The Safety Network exists to take a thoughtful and integrated approach to safety. To achieve this, The Safety Network employs a buy-and-build strategy, adding companies that strengthen the integrated proposition. DEKRA Industrial Safety fits seamlessly into this strategy. With the addition of DEKRA Industrial Safety, we are bringing high-quality safety expertise in-house and strengthening the network with specialized knowledge.”
