DEKRA accredited for the North American OSHA UL 857 atandard (bus ducts)

Good news: DEKRA has been accredited by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to test and certify bus ducts in accordance with the UL 857 standard for “electric busways and associated fittings.” Manufacturers can use this standard to demonstrate the safety and reliability of their bus duct systems for market approval in North America and elsewhere.

UL-857 certification

Certification to UL 857 means that a bus duct or busway system and its manufacturing process have been independently tested and evaluated in accordance with the North American safety standard UL 857. This standard applies to electrical power distribution systems, including associated components such as tap-off units, feed boxes, and connectors. Busbar systems are metal enclosures containing copper or aluminum conductors that safely and efficiently distribute large amounts of power.

Introduction to the North American market

With this accreditation, DEKRA is further expanding its services for manufacturers looking to introduce their products to the North American market. At DEKRA’s laboratory in Arnhem, our experts conduct all necessary tests in accordance with the UL 857 standard. Upon successful completion of the tests and a factory inspection, DEKRA issues the cDEKRAus certificate.
